He was born in Barstow, California on January 13, 1922. Dad was 95 years old at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Wilma Aguayo and son Rick Aguayo and his wife Susan. Jesse was a WWII Army Veteran who fought in North Africa and Italy from 1942 to 1945; he was honorably discharged as 1st Sergeant. He was assigned to the Army's 34th Division, 175th Field Artillery Battalion, Battery A. He fought in the battles/campaigns of Tunisian, Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, North Appennines, and the PO Valley.

After his discharge from the Army, he returned to Barstow and worked as a carpenter. Driving down Main Street there may be a handful of stores and buildings that he did not work on. He took pride in his work and did it very well for over 30 years.
